HISPANIC-AMERICAN MUSIC THERAPY PROGRAM

There is a long tradition of Music Therapy used as an auxiliary tool in medicine in countries such as Argentina. In the last ten years, Music Therapy has been more valued and recognised and it has increased its contribution to other disciplines.

Music Therapy is a psychotherapy that uses the sound, music and no-verbal language (expressed through the body and the sounds) to establish a relationship between the therapist and the patient in order to obtain a better quality of life and to recover and integrate the person in the community.

Every year, MUSITANDO organices a trip to Argentina, the purpose of this trip is for the students to see the work of other professionals and the different trends in Music Therapy. These professionals use Music Therapy in their daily work.

In Argentina Music Therapy is part of the social system. Music therapy is applied to all the fields of social assistance.

The work experience will take place in hospitals, centres for psychosocial assistance to the community, centres for physical and psychic disabilities, centres against social exclusion and schools.
